Isolated the ENORMOUS battery drain to this app by force stopping and checking battery use throughout the day. Great app if you don't mind charging your phone a few times per day, or else you will discover a dead phone mid-day.

Simple but effective. I would give a better rating if there were settings I could control but there are no instructions in the app or online.

I had high hopes for this app. Unfortunately within 15 minutes it overheats my phone so high to the point that it stops charging, and because the app uses so much battery power to run, my phone goes dead. Completely useless app.

I wanted a dash cam thanks to recent experiences with dishonest drivers and their equally dishonest insurance companies. Im quite happy with its performance to date and feel confident that it will be helpful should the unfortunate need arise.

I could only get this app to record for 30 seconds and unfortunately I drive more than 30 seconds.

It was updated yesterday, and now it doesnt even open. It crashes every single time.

There is no clear way to know what is and when was uploaded and for how long it is retained. There is no way for you to delete your own videos on the Web! This system is a privacy abuse horror waiting to happen! Steer well clerar of this application, you dont need that kind of nightmare happening to you! I have deleted the app, good riddance!

Ive been seeing drastic improvement in the performance of Nexar.

A couple months ago, I download Nexars Dashcam out of sheer curiosity. I activated it in an iPhone 6S+ and mounted it on the dashboard of my SUV. On the first occasion I used it, the novelity excited me. But then I noticed a shift from novelty to necessity. There are three reasons I rate this app so highly: 1. The automatic creation of an "event" when hard braking takes place. I cannot overstate the utility of this feature. It actually creates the event based on recording from 20 seconds earlier to the point of the event. 2. Integration of Waze. While there were some minor hiccups initially, I found this to work out well in subsequent updates. The ability to record traffic conditions while using Waze for navigation is very, very practical. 3. Regular updates and communication for Nexar Inc. is laudible. Simply put, they pay attention to this application. Quite frankly, an application so well-designed, so efficient, and so practical, and is offered free, is worthwhile. Would I pay a reasonable fee for such an application? Yes, I would. Now, like all applications, there are bugs from time to time. Initially, Waze integration was a bit hit and miss in terms of running navigation while recording. But the app is generally stable, and well worth it. I high recommend.

Ive been debating about getting a dashcam for a while, as I commute almost 20 miles each way every day. I thought Id look on the App Store first, and Nexar had the best features. Ive used it multiple times, and it is amazing, especially for being a free app. I cant wait to see how this transforms how we drive over the next few years.

I have tried several dash cam apps and this is one of the best.

Important functionality is missing: there is no way to share the trip video to your own computer for review or archiving. No answer from the developers when an email was sent asking about it.

Love the functionality of this app. Great video quality. Support was quick but no phone support available at this time. Main (and only) negative is the battery drain. Used nearly 15% of battery for only 30 minutes even when I had the device plugged in and charging the entire trip. Hopefully they will find a way to reduce the battery drain so I can use the app on my long commute

Great product. Love the idea!!! But it drains battery even after closing app. Have to restart phone to stop.

The second you open up a navigation app or uber driver app it stops recording. Thats really pathetic. It would work great otherwise, but Im an uber driver and it stops recording when I bring uber up on my phone - even when I use the built-in uber button in the Nexar app. Devs, fix this idiotic crap!
